I will write in english , it is much easier for me, please be so kind and translate.
After Shanghai Mundial, i can say and repeat once again that we have very good refereeing here in Brazil.
For our bad (or real) result many other factors had influence, but not refereeing in Brasil.
I am sure that most of Brasilians referees are better than majority of referees in Mundial.
Generally, level of refereeing here is OK, although here in Brasil I watched few games when refereeing was pretty bad.. but majority of games our athletes recieved good and fair refereeing. I never see intention of any referee to damage one team in favor of other (which i had seen in other countries many times). But, referees are humans , and they commit mistakes, this is normal.
If problem of Brasil water polo is only refereeing, then we don't have problems at all.
Problem in todays water polo in the world is application of rules, not rules, or referees as themelfs.
I was watching many games in Shangai in company with world best referees, and it is amazing how they have different opinion about the same situations, mostly on center defender situations (like is it offensive foul, or exclusion).
How then water polo can be clear and understandable to ordinary spectator, family, friends...
In bronze medal game in Shangai I see situation that excluded Croatian player blocked shoot of Hungarian.
After game, nobody make problem about that, as in high level water polo mistakes (even in medals game) are considered as a part of game.
If this happened in Brasil, I think stories and stories will be made out of this case.
Also, before mundial, our players had chance to attend clinics of Roberto, and in Bauru Decio Patelli was having one hour conversation/clinic, where players asked about some situations, and he clarify it. I am very thankful for this kind of support.
But,I also have some objections about Brasilian referees. Not to them personally, but i would like to see them refereeing on training games during national team preparation (which happened very , very rare). I think this should be changed, and referees should practice as well , like players.
I would like to create better athmosphere between referees and coaches/director/players. It is easy to complain, but let us sit together once in 3 months, prepare videos of some doubtful decisions, and discuss.
Then referee can explain decisions, and coaches and players can modify their style of playing.
I am sure that things would be much clearer, as for coaches, to referees as well.
Referees, and clubs/coaches/director/players must collaborate closer, not one group could be superior and more important than another, as all of us are making one unit-water polo. We must show more respect between us, not creating troubles where troubles don t exist.
Sometimes coaches don't know how to instruct players what to do in some situations. It happens because suggestions of FINA are changing rapidly (even in Shangai in some matches were large number of exclusions, and later referees received recommendation to let the game go without too much interruptions) . Coaches/players simply are not informed, so they cannot adopt to instructions without knowing them.
Once again, congratulation to Roberto on excellent performance in Shangahai (not only based on my opinion, then on opinion of leading FINA members and best referees from another countries).
Water polo community or people who hang around pool could like him or dislike from whatever reason, but his refereeing in Shanghai was great.
Thanks to opportunity to say my opinion, wish good luck to all referees and hope that all of us will continue working hard to make Brasilian water polo better than today.

with best regards
Goran

Caros amigos,
